The wife has just been hit by an old virus that I thought had long done the rounds. The old antispyware xp problem. Luckly she knows that the first sign of anything strange happening is to call me. I was able to kill the processes, remove the link to any .exe file (via regedit) and then remove any trace of it from the computer. After 1/2 hour of work, her computer is back up and running with a real antivirus keeping tabs on things.

Why not check out the skeptics. http://london.skepticsinthepub.org/ This group meet in London, but there are meetings all over britain and even the world. Most months there is a guest speaker, who isn’t taken very seriously and a chance to get booze (and food) down the gullet. Spaces are limited and useually go before the close, so check them out and book early.

April 16th, 2010Used the voucher scheme provided by business link to see a marketing company. Quite a f ew things to think about. Various degrees of cost. Now need about 5k to implement them all.

April 13th, 2010Have placed myself on a few online web based directories. two are free, one has a slight cost – but places us on top in essex for quite a few phases (www.scoot.com). Will have to see how things progress.
